I get a lot of emails from people asking questions, I thought that instead of emailing the same answers to people over and over again that I would start a FAQ page and start posting them on here.
I bought a APBT from another kennel but now the parents are "American Bully Classics" instead of APBTs can my dog still be registered with you?
Yes, though the registry will highlight the parents in red to show that they are not SAPBR registered, all dogs created using templates that are now being called American Bully (Classic) are still in our eyes APBTs. This includes the dogs from Paso Libre & Steel Blue Kennels created/bred before June 2012. These dogs have been for months listed as APBTs & though their breeders/creators are now calling them American Bully (Classic). We feel this was wrong or them & will accept them even though their parents will never be registered here.
I got a email telling me that Blue is rare in Pit Bulls & that my Blue dogs are most likely American Bullies is this true?
Yes & No. Yes Dilute colors can be rare this alone does not make your APBT a Bully, Let me explain Blue is caused by the Dilute gene this gene causes Blacks to be Blue & Chocolates to be Lilac. A dog has to carry two Dilute gene to become a Diluted color this means that your Black dog could carry 1 copy & you may not know. So when breeding you could breed 2 Black dilute carriers together & get a blue or two. The Dilute Gene is in the Genetic code of the Pit Bull, and it is generally accepted that this gene is seen more in ASTs than in APBTs but genetically these are the same breed.
Can I register the pit bull puppy if the parents aren't registered yet?
Yes, provided your kennel is SAPBR Certified and you do not own both parents..
I'm not sure if my Pit Bull is registrable because of his color can you help me?
Yes we can, We have a full page about colors & markings, you should find the help you need on that page but if you still have questions about colors than you can email me again.
My game generated a puppy I assume that the puppy's parents are the two on the lot, but only one is registered, What can I do?
This puppy would be accepted as Foundation, but you could also register the puppy with those as it's parents if your kennel is certified. If the one parent isn't registered you should submit the registration for the unregistered parent along with the puppy's. If you have not registered the other parent because you have been told it is now a American Bully Classic, and it was bred before June 2012 it it still a APBT, if it was born after June 2012 but is from older bloodlines email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss registration options.
